For twenty years, Tamaasa has been producing her unique and recognisable artwork as a fine art on canvas and now offers her artwork on a new medium. Add a beautiful piece of Tamaasa's artwork to your collection today!

Fine artist Tabitha Maxwell aka TAMAASA, chooses to work under her younger sister's childhood nickname for her, in Auckland where she resides with her young son.  Since graduation from Whitecliffe College of Art and design in 2007 she has worked full time in the creative sector.

Born into a highly creative family in New Zealand, she first put paint to walls and canvases in her teens, spending her early years of creativity living abroad in London before studying both fine arts and fashion design.

The easily recognisable style of TAMAASA has been sold and exhibited, as both a fine art, and street art and fashion collaborations for over twenty years now in New Zealand and abroad, depicting native fauna and wildlife infused into surrealist fantastical imagery, with her recognisable neon and black contrasts being a backdrop in digital, fine art and graphic works.

Industrial and feminine, there is a romantic darkness and bright magic found in each piece created and the drawing of spiritual, mythical and legendary symbolism can be found in many pieces, from her highly detailed portraiture, to her mythical wildlife imagery. Each piece depicts and tells a story, often connecting worlds and myths, or exploring ecological values, and ancestral stories.

Her work can be found in private collections both in New Zealand, and abroad in London, Australia and the United States.

Angie Dennis is continually inspired by the unique landscape of New Zealand and is constantly pushing boundaries on how she sees life in her new found home.

"Without diversity, the natural environment wouldn’t survive.  New Zealand could be considered as one of the most diverse nations in the world due the high rates of immigration.

These 3 pieces celebrate and recognise New Zealand’s cultural diversity together with the unique native birds.  There are over 200 nationalities in NZ so I was only able to cover a few in these three pieces.

The bowl is the same in each piece to show the commonality of each nationality based on where we live. Wax Eye/Silver Eye, Waratah (Aus), Kaka Beak (NZ)."

Greg has a distinctly cool style - geometric, clean, modern and bright.

Greg could be described as an illustrator, artist and graphic designer but in recent years he’s grown to become one of NZ’s most prolific illustrators carving out a niche generating custom illustrations for high profile brands wanting to stand out.

Greg began his creative life with fine arts, his career has evolved from a well-oiled background - graduate of Elam School of Fine Arts (majoring in painting) followed by a successful career in graphic design which included a 6 year stint in London and then back to Aotearoa. For nearly a decade, the 9-5 employment honed his design skills, but left him questioning.

Keen on returning to his creative art roots Greg produced a range of art prints in 2010. That much adored kiwi flavour emerged, and he quickly gained momentum. He was first inspired by his Elam tutor, renowned NZ artist, Dick Frizzell, back in the early 90’s, and a strong sense of national pride and identity has remained ever since.

Greg’s work illustrates that pride. He touches on the obvious Kiwi emblems but teases them up a bit. Style and hues are tweaked and reworked, results are unexpected and intelligent. He shows us classic memories; summer roadies, riding bikes, hitting the waves, hanging at the beach house. Nostalgic, retro and cool.
